Program Info
What should I expect on day 1?
Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to make check in easier. All parents or guardians are required to attend a Parent Orientation, which is held the first week of each new session, at the beginning of the first class. This orientation is for both new and returning families.
Where is class held? Where do we meet?
Classes generally meet at either the driving range, putting green or outside the clubhouse. This will vary by course. Your coach will include this information in your first weekly email. You can also look for the First Tee signage and colorful cones. Please check the Course Info pages (linked below) for a map with a location of where to meet.
How long is class?
Most classes are 60 minutes in duration*. 12+ (12-18) or 14+ (14-18) year old classes are 90 minutes long.
What type of communication will I receive?
You will receive weekly emails from your Coach or Course Contact. This may not be the same person. These emails will start the week prior to class beginning and will include announcements pertaining to that week’s class, any special news, if there are any changes to classes. Weekly emails will also include a “Car Talk”- a resource for you to expand on what members are learning in class.

You will also receive periodic emails from [email protected] through Constant Contact, to tell you about other opportunities.
What should I do during class?
We ask that parents/guardians remain outside the learning environment during class time—in order to limit crowd size, for the safety of everyone involved, and to limit distractions for kids. Parents/Guardians can volunteer during classes, special events, clinics and tournaments. Does my child need golf clubs?
We provide all the golf equipment needed for each class. Any members with their own clubs and equipment are encouraged to bring them. If you are interested in purchasing a set, we sell used clubs with a bag for a nominal charge. Ask your coach!
What does my child need to bring to class? What should they wear?
Bring a water bottle and wear sun protection gear. Members can wear golf clothes or athletic clothing. They should wear athletic type shoes, a hat and bring a water bottle.
What are the Tournaments and other events on the programming calendars?
Members are invited throughout the year to special opportunities provided by First Tee – Phoenix locally, First Tee HQ and other partners. These opportunities will vary- discounted tickets to events, a family picnic, Golf sales, etc.
Some of these special events are by invitation only when there is limited space, age limits or skill restrictions.
