Raquel Romero, Outreach Coordinator

I’m passionate about ensuring everyone has access to opportunities to reach their full potential, especially children and youth. My dedication comes from a deep commitment to service and meaningful connection.

I’m originally from Veracruz, Mexico, and moved to Arizona in 2016, a place I now proudly call home and deeply love. My introduction to golf came later in life, as the sport wasn’t easily accessible growing up and I didn’t have anyone around me who played. That’s why I’m especially excited to be part of First Tee – Phoenix, work on the Inspira initiative, and help break down barriers so more kids can benefit from the game and everything it teaches.

I hold an MBA from Grand Canyon University and am a proud alumna of the Hispanic Leadership Institute (Class of 2023) at Valle del Sol. With a diverse background across the nonprofit, government, and private sectors in both Mexico and the U.S., I bring valuable experience in community engagement, fundraising, and public relations.

I actively support organizations such as the Desert Botanical Garden, Maricopa County Animal Shelter, and Gabriel’s Angels, turning my passions into meaningful impact. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active, nurturing my plants, spending time with my dog and friends, and winding down with a good book.
