I enjoy listening to live music and spending time outdoors with family and friends.

Bentley Univ., RMIT, Arkansas State U.

What’s your profession and why did you choose it?

Non-profit leadership. Right out of college, I had an interview to be the assistant to the Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations at a well-known cancer hospital. My grandpa had just passed from cancer, and I felt like it was a good fit, I didn’t really know much about the job! Now nearly 25 years later, I have worked my way up and worked at a variety of non-profits with amazing people.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a lawyer. I did end up with a minor in law.

Who was your mentor and how did they empower you?

I have been lucky to have people throughout my life provide mentorship – my parents, coaches, close friends, family members, professors, colleagues, and more. I try to soak in bits and learn from as many people as possible from as many backgrounds as possible, which empowers me in all aspects of life.

If you could give a younger person career advice, what would it be?

Your career is long, think of it as a journey, have a five-year plan that you change every six months.
